Resources — Essential Apps

Every App You Need to Live Well in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia is one of the most digitised countries in the world. From government portals to grocery delivery, property search to pet care — here are the apps that make daily life seamless for expats and residents.

41 verified apps 11 categories iOS & Android Updated 2025
🏛️

Government & Identity

Download these before anything else. Saudi Arabia runs on digital government — these apps gate your Iqama, visa, employment, health and city services.

8 apps
Absher (أبشر) Must Have

The master key to Saudi government services. Manage your Iqama, process family and exit visas, pay traffic fines, update personal data, and authorise employer transfers — all in one place.

Why you need it: Without Absher, you cannot renew your Iqama, approve dependent visas, or access most official services. It is mandatory for every resident.
Qiwa (قوى) Must Have

Ministry of Human Resources platform for all employment matters. Verify your contract, apply for freelance permits, submit job transfer requests, and check your labour rights and entitlements.

Why you need it: Every employed expat must use Qiwa for contract verification and any employment status change — including transfers between employers.
Sehhaty (صحتي) Must Have

Book appointments at government health centres, access your full health records, review vaccination history, and register for or update health insurance. Linked to your Absher account.

Why you need it: Required for government healthcare access, vaccination certificates (essential for travel), and health insurance registration updates.
Tawakkalna (تواكلنا) Government

Originally launched as the COVID health-status app, Tawakkalna is now a comprehensive digital identity platform. It holds your vaccination certificates, health status, and serves as a verified digital ID accepted at venues and events across Saudi Arabia.

Why you need it: Vaccination certificates stored here are required for many international travel routes departing from Saudi Arabia, and accepted as proof of identity at concerts, stadiums and government buildings.
Nafath (نفاذ) Government

Saudi Arabia's national digital identity authentication system. Nafath generates one-time passwords to verify your identity across all government platforms — acting as the two-factor authentication layer for your entire digital identity.

Why you need it: Required to log into Absher, Qiwa, Sehhaty and virtually every other government digital service. Without it, you cannot authenticate government transactions securely.
Tamm — Amanah Riyadh (تمم) Riyadh

Riyadh municipality's (Amanah Riyadh) official service app. Pay municipality fees, report infrastructure issues, apply for construction permits, and access a wide range of city services from your phone without visiting a government office. Note: this is a Saudi app — not to be confused with the UAE's Abu Dhabi "Tamm" government portal, which is a separate, unrelated platform.

Why you need it: Essential for Riyadh-based residents dealing with property permits, housing violations, neighbourhood issues or municipality-linked business matters.
Muroor (مرور) Traffic

The Saudi Traffic Department's official app. Check and pay Saher speed camera fines, renew your vehicle registration (Istimara), track driving licence status, and manage all vehicle-related government requirements.

Why you need it: Outstanding traffic fines block Iqama renewal and vehicle re-registration. Clearing them through Muroor is fast and avoids queues at traffic offices.
SPL Online (البريد السعودي) Post & Address

Saudi Post's official app. Track incoming parcels, manage your National Address (the official registered address linked to your Iqama), and schedule home deliveries. Your National Address is a legal requirement for banking and many government processes.

Why you need it: Banks and most government applications require a verified National Address registered through Saudi Post. Set this up in your first week.

Daily Life Essentials

Utility and infrastructure apps every resident needs — from renting a property legally to paying your electricity bill and riding the metro.

3 apps
Riyadh Metro & Bus (Naqd Card) Riyadh

The official app for Riyadh's metro and public bus network. Plan journeys across all 6 metro lines, buy and store digital tickets, top up your Naqd transit card, and view live departure times. Covers intercity bus routes too. Note: "Naqd" here refers to the Riyadh Metro transit smartcard — not the BNPL/digital lending platform of the same name.

Why you need it: The Riyadh Metro is one of the most cost-effective ways to navigate the capital. The app replaces physical queue ticket machines entirely.
Ejar (إيجار) Housing

Saudi Arabia's official rental contract platform, operated by the Real Estate General Authority (REGA). All legitimate tenancy agreements in Saudi Arabia must be registered on Ejar — it protects both tenant and landlord and is required to transfer utility accounts into your name.

Why you need it: Any rental not registered on Ejar is legally unprotected. You cannot transfer electricity or water services into your name without an Ejar-registered contract.
ALKAHRABA (الكهرباء) Utility

The Saudi Electricity Company's (SEC) official app. Pay your electricity bill, monitor monthly consumption, report outages, submit meter readings, and manage multiple properties under one account. Covers the majority of the Kingdom.

Why you need it: Electricity bills in Saudi Arabia are paid digitally — there is no walk-in payment convenience for most residents. This app is your only practical way to pay and monitor usage.

Price Comparison & Savings

Saudi Arabia's retail market has significant price variance across stores. These tools help you find the best deal before you buy — from supermarket promotions to electronics price tracking.

5 apps
ClicFlyer Free

Aggregates weekly supermarket and hypermarket promotional flyers from Panda, Lulu, Carrefour, Tamimi and others in one place. Browse upcoming deals before you shop, create a shopping list, and never miss a weekly sale.

Unique advantage: Saudi supermarkets rotate weekly promotions heavily — ClicFlyer is the fastest way to know which store has the best deal on essentials before you leave home.
D4D Saudi Deals

Deals4Days — a Saudi discount aggregator pulling promotional codes, cashback offers, and limited-time deals from a wide range of online and in-store retailers. Covers fashion, food, electronics, and services.

Best use case: Before any online purchase from a major Saudi retailer, check D4D first. Discount codes are often available that shave 10–25% off your order.
Pricena Comparison

A price comparison engine covering electronics, appliances, mobile phones and accessories across Saudi Arabia's main online retailers including Noon, Amazon.sa, Jarir and others. Shows price history and current lowest price.

Best use case: Buying a phone, laptop, or appliance. Pricena shows the cheapest verified retailer in seconds — preventing overpaying at brand stores or overpriced marketplaces.
Kanbkam Price Tracker

Amazon price tracking tool for Saudi Arabia (and UAE). Set a target price on any Amazon.sa product, and Kanbkam alerts you when it drops. Displays full price history charts so you can time purchases for genuine deals rather than manufactured discounts.

Best use case: Tracking seasonal sale items and Prime Day deals on Amazon.sa — avoid paying full price when prices fluctuate significantly throughout the year.
Mqadi Comparison

Saudi-focused comparison shopping platform covering a broader range of product categories than Pricena, including home goods, furniture, and clothing. Aggregates pricing from both large retailers and smaller Saudi-based online stores.

Best use case: Furnishing or equipping a new home — Mqadi spans furniture and home goods retailers that other comparison tools miss entirely.

Property Search

Whether you are renting a furnished flat, buying a villa, or searching for commercial space — these are the three platforms where the Saudi property market lives.

3 apps
Aqar (عقار) Rentals & Sales

Wasalt (وصلت) Commercial & Residential

A Saudi-born property platform strong on both residential and commercial property search. Wasalt verifies broker credentials and agent ratings, reducing the risk of unqualified intermediaries. Also covers off-plan project launches from Saudi developers.

Best for: Commercial property — office space, retail units, and warehouses — and off-plan residential investments from MISA-registered Saudi developers.
🚗

Buying or selling a car in Saudi Arabia? These three platforms cover certified pre-owned, dealer-direct, and private listings — from inspected vehicles with financing to direct peer-to-peer classifieds.

CarSwitch Certified Used

A fully inspected, certified used-car marketplace. Every vehicle on CarSwitch goes through a multi-point inspection and carries a detailed condition report. Offers in-house financing, trade-in valuations, and home delivery of your purchase.

Best for: Expats buying their first car in KSA who want confidence in the vehicle's condition without the risk of private marketplace surprises.
Syarah (سيارة) New & Used

Saudi Arabia's largest car marketplace, covering both new cars from authorised dealers and used vehicles from individuals and dealerships. Advanced search filters by make, model, year, mileage, and price. Compare dealer offers side by side before visiting a showroom.

Best for: Browsing the widest possible selection of vehicles — new and used — from verified Saudi dealerships with transparent pricing and dealer reviews.
Haraj (حراج) Private Listings

Saudi Arabia's biggest general classifieds platform — the local equivalent of Craigslist or Gumtree. Cars are one of its most active categories, with thousands of private listings posted daily. No middlemen, direct negotiation with sellers across all regions.

Best for: Buyers willing to inspect and negotiate directly for potentially lower prices, and sellers wanting the widest possible audience for a private car sale in KSA.

Unique strength: Same-day delivery windows and real-time parcel tracking make Ninja the go-to for urgent purchases when standard e-commerce timelines are too slow.
Noon Fashion & Electronics

The Gulf's home-grown e-commerce giant. Strong on fashion, beauty, electronics, and home goods with warehouses in Riyadh and Jeddah enabling next-day delivery to most Saudi cities. Noon Gold subscription unlocks free delivery and exclusive deals.

Unique strength: Better than Amazon.sa for fashion and regional brands. Noon Express delivery is often faster for in-stock items, and returns are handled locally with no international shipping hassle.
Amazon Saudi Arabia Widest Selection

Amazon's dedicated Saudi storefront with Arabic-language support, SAR pricing, and a local fulfilment network. The widest product catalogue of any platform operating in KSA, including international brands unavailable elsewhere. Prime membership unlocks free two-day delivery and streaming.

Unique strength: Depth of catalogue — especially for imported goods, niche electronics, books, and international brands — beats every other platform operating in Saudi Arabia.
🛒

Grocery & Hypermarkets

Home delivery from Saudi Arabia's major supermarket chains. All three offer promotions, loyalty programmes, and same-day delivery for large weekly shops.

3 apps
Panda Supermarket

One of Saudi Arabia's largest supermarket chains with over 200 branches. The Panda app offers click-and-collect plus home delivery, weekly promotional catalogues, and a loyalty points programme. Strong fresh produce and household goods range across all major cities.

Best for: Regular weekly grocery shops — Panda's promotions on staples, fresh produce and household goods are competitive, and branch density means click-and-collect is available nearly everywhere.

LuLu is a large-format hypermarket known for exceptional variety — particularly South Asian, South-East Asian, and international imported food products. The app enables online ordering, access to exclusive app-only deals, and loyalty card management.

Best for: Expat families from South Asia, South-East Asia and East Africa who need specific food products unavailable in standard Saudi supermarkets — Lulu's import range is unmatched.
Carrefour Saudi Arabia Hypermarket

The French retail giant's Saudi operation, one of the most popular hypermarkets in the Kingdom. The app provides grocery ordering, the My Club loyalty programme (points on every purchase), exclusive app promotions, and scheduled home delivery slots across Saudi cities.

Best for: Loyalty-focused shoppers — Carrefour's My Club points accumulate quickly and convert to meaningful discounts. European imported goods are also well-stocked here.
🏡

Domestic Workers & Household Services

Hiring household staff in Saudi Arabia is a formal, government-regulated process. These are the legally approved platforms for recruitment, visa processing, and household staffing — using unlicensed channels carries significant legal risk.

3 apps
Musaned (مساند) Government Platform

The official Saudi government platform for domestic worker recruitment and management, operated under the Ministry of Human Resources. Musaned handles visa requests, work contracts, salary protection, and complaint resolution. It is the legally mandated route for hiring household workers in Saudi Arabia.

Why you need it: Hiring a domestic worker through any channel other than Musaned is a violation of Saudi labour law. All contracts must be registered here to be legally valid and enforceable.
Maharah Recruitment Agency

A licensed domestic worker recruitment agency operating within the Musaned framework. Maharah handles sourcing, pre-screening, placement, and initial placement support for housemaids, drivers, and household staff from approved countries. Transparent pricing with no hidden fees.

Best for: Families who want managed end-to-end recruitment — Maharah handles the sourcing and paperwork, leaving you to manage the employment relationship once placed.
Smasco Household Staffing

Saudi Manpower Solutions Company — a major government-licensed household staffing provider. Smasco recruits, trains, and places domestic workers including housemaids, cooks, gardeners, and private drivers. Offers short-term secondment contracts as well as long-term employment placements.

Saudi Arabia's pet care sector has grown significantly. These platforms cover veterinary services, pet supplies, grooming, and emergency support for expats with pets in the Kingdom.

3 apps
Aleef (أليف) Veterinary Network

Saudi Arabia's largest veterinary clinic network. Aleef operates clinics across Riyadh, Jeddah, and other major cities, providing consultations, vaccinations, surgery, dental care, and grooming. Book appointments through the app and access your pet's medical history digitally.

Best for: Routine and specialist veterinary care — Aleef's multi-branch network means there is usually a clinic within reasonable distance in major Saudi cities, with English-speaking staff at many locations.

Best for: Stocking up on pet food and supplies without visiting a physical store. Subscription orders available for regular food deliveries, ensuring you never run short between shop visits.
Vetted Online Vet Consultations

An on-demand veterinary consultation platform connecting pet owners with licensed vets via video or chat. Useful for non-emergency health questions, post-operative care advice, medication queries, and triage support before deciding whether a clinic visit is needed.

Fitness & Wellness

Saudi Arabia's gym and wellness scene has expanded rapidly under Vision 2030. Whether you want gym-hopping flexibility, structured training programmes, or detailed workout tracking — these are the apps serious about fitness.

3 apps
1Pass Multi-Gym Access

Saudi Arabia's leading flexible gym membership platform. One subscription gives you access to a growing network of premium gyms, fitness studios, swimming pools, and wellness centres across Riyadh, Jeddah, and other Saudi cities — without being locked into a single gym contract.

Best for: Expats who travel between cities or prefer variety over commitment. 1Pass is also ideal if you want to trial multiple gyms before deciding where to sign a long-term membership.
Hevy Workout Tracking

A highly rated workout tracking app for logging gym sessions, building structured programmes, and monitoring progress over time. Hevy offers an extensive exercise library with technique notes, social sharing of routines, and detailed analytics on volume and progression.

Best for: Gym-goers who want to track progressive overload properly. Hevy's clean interface and routine-sharing features make it popular in Saudi Arabia's growing lifting community.
Strong Strength Training

A dedicated strength training tracker built around barbell and compound lift programming. Strong logs sets, reps, and weight with one-rep max calculations, rest timers, and customisable programmes. Particularly well-suited for powerlifting and weightlifting progressions.

Best for: Strength athletes and anyone following structured periodised programmes — Strong's one-rep max tracking and load history are more detailed than general fitness apps for barbell training.
Beyond the Apps

Apps handle the day-to-day. They don't handle the setup.

Absher, Qiwa, Muqeem, GOSI, and SPL are powerful tools — once they're active. Getting them activated simultaneously, in the correct sequence, across Arabic-language portals with hard interdependencies is where self-service breaks down for senior executives. A single registration error in Muqeem delays your Iqama. A missed GOSI enrollment freezes your Qiwa work permit. For corporate relocators, that's not a learning experience — it's a business disruption.

Start with Absher — Everything Flows From There

Register your Saudi SIM on the day you arrive. Then activate Absher with your Iqama number and mobile number. Once Absher is live, set up Nafath for authentication, then Sehhaty, Qiwa, and SPL. Within your first week you will have full access to the Saudi government digital ecosystem.
